About Who We Are

The Order of Mary is an ecumenical, non-cloistered, modern order for men and women of all faiths who subscribe to the Law of One and the Rule of Communion.  We would like our members to make these a part of their spiritual awareness.

The Order of Mary is established within and supported by the Universal Gnostic Church.  The archbishop coadjutor for the Universal Gnostic Church is Dr. John F. Gilbert.  In that capacity, he is a member of all of the groups (orders) within the church.

The Order of Mary was founded by Archbishops Betty Reeves, John Gilbert and Marie Harris to be a modern order dedicated to helping members attain personal communion with the Divine.  The original concept for the Order of Mary was developed by Dr. Rhodonn Starrus founder of Universal Seminary and former Grandmaster of the Order of Modern Essenes.

The abbess for the Order of Mary is Mary Running Elk.  She and her secretary run our Intentional Prayer Network and Intentional Prayer Project.  Our telephones are being answered by the person on duty for the Universal Gnostic Church at 828-669-6234 or 800-488-5271.  We answer our own email.
